Comment on Ryan re-elected Mayor, Brown heads councillor line-up by Janet Brown.

Oh my, Melanie, another that raises differences for special preference is that what you are saying. That is my point. We who call Alice home have many different facets to us but we need to work together for our community. We cannot be sidetracked with petty issues of a few and forget the big picture. Which is what has happened. SEGREGATION. So what is your agreement a town we can all live in that has strong foundations to support those struggling. Or the town we currently have dysfunctional and divided. I put community first. Only with strength of community can you provide excellent assistance to those in need. You, Russell, Bob and others with your blinkers would have us continue in a town of segregation and divided at too many levels. Wake up and put your effort into strong community and work with the change that sees outcomes for everyone.

In council we have from TAG Steve, Eli, Dave and Geoff. That is half the elected councillors. That was a vote for the removal of the ridiculous from our town. And stop the segregation by three tiers of government that have openly promoted racism in our Territory. I would like the blue and white signs removed. And for the people of the Territory to work together. We were using the words social inclusion but we need to do more than that – we need to work with cooperation from all. Our town our responsibility. Sorry Bob and Russell. Your minority issues are not relevant in a majority Alice plan. We need to fix issues for the Majority – the bigger issues – and then work on assistance for minority issues.

The millions and the misery
Jen, how many failed programs have you been employed with?
This is not about giving young people a voice this is about giving young people a safe space.
With people who care about their safety. Not a government program that employees robots who perform for the wages.
This project is about people supporting kids and ensuring their safety. Relax. Revive and not be throw on the street after the place closes.
Empathy and real compassion will be the base of volunteers.
Not a government position in a high needs spot. People who care. That is why we will succeed.

The millions and the misery
The perfect location.

Memo Club for 24/7 youth centre?
I really am not surprised by the responses by people who have been part of these failed programs.
And still are part of them. You all yell loudly the amount of agencies who are doing something.
Yet our you problems continue. These places are all individual pieces of the puzzle. Never to join up and offer real security and safety. Peace meal titbits.
What we are dissucissing is a community centre that is open and operating 24/7. Were kids have a place. The current supports while well meaning miss the big picture. Kids want security and safety. Couch surfing is not what I would call safety.
This will be a place to call into to relax. Get a feed and relax. Similar to a home environment one that will give opportunities to kids to make life choices on their voice.
I watched for the first time last night blind side. What a story. A story to reinforce the need for a place and people to care for our kids.
Those people who want to pat themselves on the back and protect themselves is the real shame of failing our kids.
We are taking a stand to provide safety and security to these kids. And you want to knock us for standing up for these kids. Really. I really do not care about your failures. I care about the kids.

We need to open asap. We need showers, toilets, kitchen open areas. All this is in the Memo.
The Memo is the only place in town. I ask Donna to please support this. This is for our kids.
We hope to raise enough money to build a purpose centre. Right now we need the Memo club for this project to go ahead. For the sake of our local kids and the community.
Donna, we ask that you find time to talk to Steve and Congress work with us for the sake of our town. And their future. Please.
