The seat of Lingiari is once again too close to call with a flood of money for Labor retain the electorate, according to Sportsbet’s Ben Hawes.

He says yesterday the Coalition firmed into outright favouritism at $1.80 with Labor at $1.90, however both candidates are now paying $1.85 after renewed punter support for the ALP.

The Coalition have firmed from $1.14 into $1.10 to retain Solomon (Darwin).

Sportsbet’s betting odds currently predict the Coalition will win 97 seats and Labor just 47. Four seats remain too close to call – Lingiari in the Northern Territory, Page in New South Wales, Indi and McEwen in Victoria – and the remaining two seats will go to Bob Katter and Andrew Wilkie.

“For most of the campaign money has been in favour of the CLP in Lingiari but in the last 24 hours it has all going on Warren Snowdon to hold the seat,” says Mr Hawes.

“So much so, that we’re now holding double the money on him compared to Tina MacFarlane.” Said.

Sportsbet has already paid out on bets placed on the Coalition to win but wagers continue to come in 3 to 1 in favour of Labor, who are currently the $11 outsiders to win the election, with the Coalition paying just $1.03.
