LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Sir – The award-winning Ingkerreke Commercial MTB Enduro will be back for its seventh year from May 19-to 23, 2014.

Entries are now open and are expected to once again attract a 200-strong contingent from top tier riders to those simply out for an adventure experience in the breathtaking landscapes around Alice Springs

Four-time participant and runner-up at the 2013 event, Shaun Lewis (pictured) of Swell-Specialized raves about the week-long event:
”Alice has developed into a true mountain bike riding destination with a huge amount of sweet and flowing single-track.

“Whether you are there to go for the win, to get the best out of yourself, or just to take in the trails and riding that Alice offers with your mates, this is an awesome event.”

The seven stages of racing over five days range from a 45sec individual time-trial hill sprint, a night race to the sounds of AC/DC’s ‘Thunderstruck’, and an 80km epic capturing the majestic MacDonnell Ranges.

Many riders are attracted to the event due to the quality of the mountain bike trails in the area, and the friendly camaraderie out on the course. It’s rocky, twisty, sandy, loose … all the good stuff.

Ingkerreke Commercial are pleased to once again be the naming rights sponsors, an Aboriginal owned, Alice Springs based all trades construction company.

This race is of enormous benefit to the people of Alice Springs and Ingkerreke is all about supporting our local community.

The word Ingkerreke means ‘All together’ and reflects the corporation’s values as portrayed in the tag line: ‘Together we are stronger’.”
