Members of the Central Land Council (CLC) executive have moved to suspend David Ross as the CEO of the council, according to a letter dated May 30 and leaked to the Alice Springs News Online.
The letter, addressed to Mr Ross, is signed by CLC chairman Maurie Japarta Ryan and five executive members. It says in part: “The executive today resolved to suspend you as the CEO, effective immediately, until further resolution of the Executive.
“Please immediately vacate your office and return all CLC property to the CLC office.
“I will be in touch with you again shortly to arrange an opportunity for you to address an executive meeting.”
Mr Ryan, when asked about the letter, said he would not make any comment but added: “The Titanic leaks.”
The executive members, apart from Mr Ryan, who signed the letter are Ngarla Kunoth-Monks, Jasper Haines, Stephen Clyne, Mervyn Rubuntja and Neville Petrick.
The News was unable to reach Mr Ross nor anyone of the CLC media section.

  1. Maurie Ryan, the man who proudly claims to be family of the father of land rights, will go down as the man who helped dismantle and destroy his legacy.
And it seems for reasons of purely personal spite. Horribly sad that he’s been able to recruit others to his vindictive agenda.

  2. Interesting that Stephen Clyne has signed this, considering he isn’t a member of the CLC executive.
