p2158-Clive-Palmer-2Sir – The Palmer United Party will seek a Senate inquiry into the activities of the Northern Territory government following moves to scrap an independent investigation into NT political donations.

Support from Palmer United Party MLAs Alison Anderson and Larisa Lee led to the passing for a motion in the NT Assembly for an independent inquiry into electoral funding in the NT.

But the Country Liberal Party (CLP) government has moved in Parliament for the inquiry to be scrapped.

The CLP’s actions were a disgrace and they must have something to hide.

The Palmer United Party Senators will seek to have a Federal investigation into NT government activities as we don’t want the Territory to end up like NSW.

I strongly supported the stance of our Parliamentarians in the NT and the need for an inquiry into political donations as well as their plea for more honest, open and transparent government.

There is obviously a lack of leadership and chaos in the NT. A full and proper independent investigation into the political donations issue and the activities of organisations such as the CLP-aligned Foundation 51 is essential.

Clive Palmer
Palmer United Party Federal Leader
