There was ice on our bird bath this morning, in the Rangeview Estate farm area.
At our place the mercury must have dropped even below the 0.3 degrees at the airport, two kilometers south of us, at 7:16am.
The Bureau of Metereology says it’s not a record for May. That was minus 2.7 degrees, on the 30th of that month in 1987.
The bureau says the cold weather will hang around for a bit, with a big high in the Bight pushing cold southerlies into The Alice.
The maximum today will be 17 degrees.
Tomorrow the forecast range is one to 18 degrees.
