Man sought in indecent assault investigation

p2241-police-Comfit-1Detectives have released a comfit (pictured) of a man they would like to speak to in relation to an indecent assault in Alice Springs on May 25.
 
Superintendent Brent Warren said an unknown male indecently assaulted a 24-year-old woman as she crossed the Undoolya Road footbridge at around 6.30pm on Monday night.
 
“It is alleged a man approached the woman while she was walking across the bridge and inappropriately touched her,” says Supt Warren.
 
“The man is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, wearing jeans, a dark sweater, running shoes and a cap.
 
“The man was in company with another male who is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, wearing jeans, a long sleeved jumper, running shoes and a red beanie.”
 
Police urge anyone who may recognise this man or anyone with information in relation to this incident to call 131 444 or 1800 333 000.

  1. Guess it was dark?
    I walk on the road rather than the footbridge at night to avoid such problems.
    Which is not to say one shouldn’t be able to walk on the footbridge or that it was in anyway this woman’s fault for doing so. Absolutely not.
    But is to pass on some practical advice given to me long ago which I hope will encourage local women to stay on the streets after dark and not allow this assault to have a greater negative impact than it should.

  2. He was in front of Monte’s on Friday afternoon at 5:15pm and did the same to me while I was getting off my bike!
