Comment on Custodians’ faith in sacred sites authority destroyed by Dan Murphy.

Many people including our mayor, elected council and government members, the chief minister and others stand up at the start of all their events and acknowledge the Arrernte people and the custodians of this country. Do they mean it or is it just an empty gesture? Standing against this waste of money, this damage to a sacred site and our unique cultural heritage is a fine opportunity to really acknowledge the Arrernte people custodians and country. Where are you Damien etc?

So are you saying Elvis that we shouldn’t listen to our grannies, respect the position of those senior people with cultural knowledge? Forget what the grandfathers said and listen to the grandsons?

You need an education, Elvis. Apmereke-artweye and Kwertengele speak for country.

I can just see Damien acknowledging the custodians at the official opening of this fiasco. Or will he keep his mouth shut and just cut a ribbon around his integrity.

Lightshows: nature can do it so much better
Wouldn’t it be great if the government could invest $2 million a year on a local festival instead of supporting a Sydney company to import a festival. $2 million into the local economy supporting artists, creatives, trades, all the school kids could get involved etc etc Awesome, but nah, we’ll send the money to Sydney. Pathetic!

Story Wall, buffel and Jacinta
Thanks Alex for a bit of history and the truth about buffel. It is ravaging our natural landscape.

Gunner re-opens the Rivers of Grog floodgates
It would be interesting to know the sales figures for alcohol from all the outlets collectively while the coppers were there compared to when they weren’t. How much less grog was sold?
Or was it the same just more sold to the black marketeers for on selling.
Basically to much grog is being drunk we need to lower that, which means financial losses to the sellers, pubs won’t be happy.
I think perhaps we need to get rid of a few licences. Take away should perhaps only be sold from the hotels that already have bottlos. That’d be the Gap and Todd Tavern. Concentrate the outlets and save police time.
Also if the coppers are noticing Joe Blogs buying up big on the cheap plonk every other day, they might get an idea where to look for the black market.

New attraction while we can’t look after the ones we have?
And as for the national indigenous cultural centre, what a joke when we have no respect or care for the very many cultural / sacred sites within our town.

Spread renewables, government asked
Brunswick council had a scheme 30 years ago. You could round up your power bill or just pay any amount extra and it would go to renewable energy infrastructure.
What you payed was tallied and the value of the renewable energy produced by your investment was deducted from your future bills.
