What a joke! saving money downsizing … just tell us …

Comment on PM’s Alice office ‘downsizes’ to Supreme Court building by James T Smerk.

What a joke! saving money downsizing … just tell us you want the flashest office with the best view (I’m sure they will be taking the Top floor with range views).
Now it comes the spending on a new office fit out and changing stationary with addresses and a whole lot more. BIG savings there … I’m sure the building will eventually be occupied completely by government agencies at an assumed cost of $2m a year. I don’t know why the Government didn’t just build it itself, after 15 years it would be paid off and they would own the building as an asset.
It’s not like there will come a time when the Supreme Court isn’t required (not in this town, anyway).

Also … I’m sure there are many other Government Departments that could use less space and save money by moving into this building. Was there any research done to decide who would benefit best (save us the most) by moving in there? I highly doubt it, it’s a matter of appearing to be above everyone and high and mighty.

Most youth crime down to locals, not bush visitors
Well said Ginnia. The government is failing in its responsibility of ensuring a safe environment for its people.
Oh and I’m sure most people don’t care where the people committing the crimes come from, they just want it to stop and punishments to reflect the town’s interest.

Wow John, I didn’t know anything about the whole situation but what you have said certainly insinuates something …

Richard and Laurence, I’m not sure what you are reading but it looks like they are just informing us on a fact, they aren’t alleging anything.
I hope there is nothing wrong and maybe it’s just something that has nothing to do with the running of the company.

Master plan for town, reconciliation plan for Australia Day
The Flags should stay as they are, they represent something that shouldn’t be trivialised with [by] adding another flag for location reasons or any other. There is nothing wrong with adding an Aboriginal flag anywhere else in Alice, maybe even a huge one on the ranges or even a huge statue up there! I feel people pushing the adding of a flag to this specific location are just after publicity and trying to stir trouble. In a town that already has enough of that. I’m sure these same people will try to pick apart what I have said to try to create an argument, when what we need are ideas and constructive thinking.
