Well I’ve been here for 22 years. I been involved with newspapers for quite a few years before I got here. Never particularly liked the papers much due to their political bias.
Never was really keen either even on Alice Springs News at first, (my ignorance) but the more I watched what was happening around the place and read the paper, I realised that we are very privileged to have it.
It is one of the only newspapers around the world that is NOT politically driven or coerced by politics.
They report FACTUAL information only, so that we the readers can make informed opinions.
We are lucky to have a publication that genuinely cares about its readers and not paper sales. Suggest we all support this publication and give the respect it has earned and deserves.
Keep up the great work Erwin.

Well done to the police.
So now, a damn good talking too and a metaphorical slap on the wrist and our thoughts will be diverted to the new art centre.
Hopefully this may kickstart Ms Wakefield’s career into child welfare and the consequences of breaking the law.
I live in hope.

Cops @ bottlos: Give us the numbers!
As Dr Boffa works for Congress, I’d be interested to see what Congress is doing to assist with resolving the issues, alcohol, DV and anti-social behaviour.

Art gallery consultation flawed: Opposition
Maya, in true government style, they often fail to accurately consult.
They have a piece of paper with a few notes, one of them is a box marked “Consulted with x”. (x being business, public etc).
When they are sitting in the Qantas lounge on their way home, one of the group tick the box and then they can confidently say they consulted with x.
I have experienced this several times with their procurement policies and immigration, hence I don’t attend anymore, because I find them insulting.
It is unfortunate that this government along with many, are allowed to get away with it, but the only resolution is if the voters make the change at the election and once in power, keep the pollies open and honest.
At the end of the day, this government does what it wants when it wants.

@ Local1: Yep agree, the employer has responsibilities, BUT this is not about the employer.
Please don’t try to shift the focus of topic, or you risk being labelled a pollie!
This is about animalistic behaviour, lets deal with that issue. Involving other parties is a pathetic attempt to shift responsibility.
In addition, if it wasn’t for this continuous types disgusting behaviours, the employer wouldn’t even be implicated anyway.

When did we accept that the norm is to “not park there, for fear our car will br trashed, stay inside after dark, be careful when walking or jogging, don’t go away for fear your house may be broken into.”
What’s wrong with everyone? Why do we put up with this crap in such a great town?
So now should I buy pepper spray or a taser, just to protect myself? Sure it’s illegal, but continual FA by the pollies will eventually force normal law abiding citizens into taking these kinds of measures in order to defend their personal safety.
Then of course, the do gooders will jump on the wagon with the poor little darlings had a hard childhood. Well, plenty of others did too, but that doesn’t give them the right to act like wild animals.
Why should we have to live like this?
