Comment on Night bus service for kids isn’t fixing the problem by Surprised!.

Ms Price’s comment “sometimes we have some absenteeism” is the epitome of a cop out, akin to a pollie’s answer.
We, the taxpayers and ratepayers are paying for a SERVICE.
If the people being paid, cannot for whatever reason deliver that service, there needs to be a stronger discussion about reducing the funding arrangements and look at alternative bodies who can deliver the service.
As for her suggestion about the peddle power, well apart from asking what planet she is from, there is little more to say on that.

[ED – The “absenteeism” comment was made by Ms Price (Skye), the director of the Town Council’s Corporate and Community Services. The pedal power idea came from Cr Price (Jacinta), an elected member of the council.

Pack of girls attacked me, says Chinese on working holiday
When did we accept that the norm is to “not park there, for fear our car will br trashed, stay inside after dark, be careful when walking or jogging, don’t go away for fear your house may be broken into.”
What’s wrong with everyone? Why do we put up with this crap in such a great town?
So now should I buy pepper spray or a taser, just to protect myself? Sure it’s illegal, but continual FA by the pollies will eventually force normal law abiding citizens into taking these kinds of measures in order to defend their personal safety.
Then of course, the do gooders will jump on the wagon with the poor little darlings had a hard childhood. Well, plenty of others did too, but that doesn’t give them the right to act like wild animals.
Why should we have to live like this?

You can’t choose your neighbours
The comment “Anglicare NT, which operates as a provider to Ms Wakefield’s department, is approaching neighbours after the fact – when a house has already been bought for the purpose.”
Reminds me of closing the gate after the horse has bolted.
How will that appease the neighbours?

New shield laws protect news sources, but is there a flip side?
@ Jones: I’m sure he would. He is a man of enormous integrity. It’s a pity there are not more like him.

Very disgusting. If it was a polly’s daughter we may see some real action, but alas we we’ll see some asinine, politically correct political promises, like we’re “Gunner” do this.
When will we actually do something to prevent this?

Government lied on liquor, says Lambley, demands poll
I’m unsure how and why we allow pollies to continually break election promises. There should be a law against it. Something like the trade practices “goods not as described” or “goods not fit for purpose”.
But someone continually votes for these people.
So, don’t vote and pay the fine like I do, with accompanying letter of course to the Electoral Commission, start an independent party or stop complaining.
Until these pollies are held accountable, we may as well be holding a gun to our own heads.
