Comment on Indoor pool open but cost of fixing it still unclear by Surprised!.

The council bought cheap (as per usual) and now WE have to foot the bill again.
How the hell can they not know the cost of repair? It’s pretty simple, the invoices get entered into a thing called a computer then there this function that enables you to press a key and the computer spits out the answer. All you have to be is able to READ. I’m assuming most people in the council can read though a lot seem to lack numeracy skills – or it it by design?
Come clean with numbers and let us see where OUR money is going.

Meeting in CM office will be Transport Hall’s ‘make or break’
Perhaps the Government could speak to Liz and see how they can assist in sorting any issues out!
I hope those complain about Gunner, didn’t vote for him.
We should all know that the pollies are only interested in what happens north of Berrimah, whilst disappointing it seems to be more than perception.
The NT Government continually assists in the demise of local business, albeit by their tardiness in making decisions. (Take a look at the every growing vacant commercial properties around town)
To see Road Transport Hall of Fame leave Alice because of more Government bullshit, would be a tragedy in more ways than one.
The people out there do a great, tireless and often thankless job.
HELP them out, Gunner.

Minimise blackouts with community energy plan
As long as EVERYBODY understands that RISK is directly proportional to DEPENDENCY.
Therefore I would be very careful who is charged with looking after the LCEP. Neither the government of pollies can be trusted, so who will monitor/ manage it?
PAWA clearly can’t run a power grid efficiently or effectively. If they could, we wouldn’t have had the outages we do.
We (the consumers) have already paid numerous times for the infrastructure and maintenance of, so I am very reluctant to agree to paying more for LCEP.

Mystery fault may have triggered blackout
Ummm, I knew the Berrimah line existed but laying blame on Darwin is very uncool and show us that PWC have major issues.
Airing dirty laundry is poor form. “It’s not my fault …”
So tonight’s outage due to lightning strike, well I’ve lived in countries that have far more lightning strikes than Alice Springs.
Clearly there are design flaws in our outdated power grid.
So the question is, when will these numbskulls fix it with the money they have already charged us for?
The alternative is for a gutsy polly to flex some political power. So, I suggest we all become self sufficient and go off grid.

Power out
@1 Alex says it all. It’s not about losing power. Yep, natural disasters are understandable, but these regular unexplained outages are cause for serious concern and clearly indicate that PWC have some serious issues.
The fact that they have not identified or will not disclose the cause, is frightening.
Businesses lost a huge amount of business and our power was out from 10am until 6pm, that’s more than a few hours.
Clearly the people that are accepting of this outage are government workers and may have little or no concept of the real costs to the consumers.
So, my point again, how hard is it to run a power station?

Power out
Really? How hard can it be to run a power station! So how do the businesses get compensation for the huge loss of business? In true government style it will be overlooked.
I ordered my own 40 kva unit a month ago so I wouldn’t have to put up with this crappy service, I’m sick of it!
