I agree with Ginnia plus the area around Anzac Oval …

Comment on National Indigenous gallery process hijacked? by Kathy.

I agree with Ginnia plus the area around Anzac Oval is historical, with the Totom Theatre, the Old PreSchool, (50 + Centre) one of the first buildings built by local town residents, the Youth Centre and the oval.
Army tents were stationed here during the war. The area is named after the soldiers and the Anzac history is here at this place.
The oval is used continuously for all sorts of events, and so should remain so for all Alice Springs to continue to enjoy.
Do not destroy this place by building large centres on it, and ignoring the significance of this area.
Also parking would be even harder to find in this part of town.

Anzac Oval will be site for gallery: Gunner
Seems neither side is listening to the other or the rate payers of Alice Springs. Yes, it is sides, the Berrimah Line is defiantly still up and ignored by northern folks when there is a reason to.

Leaving town: Centre, its creatures will miss Kaye Kessing
Will love your murals forever in Alice Springs. Loved your work.
Take care.

A talk about the oval on the oval? Ministers a no-show.
I think all of the Alice Springs residents are sick and tired of not being listened to from the government and the council about their thoughts on the oval staying for the locals’ events like we have just had.
More meetings will not change either side’s views. Dragging this out when everyone knows the locals are not being listened to is a joke and an embarrassment to all Alice locals.

National Aboriginal gallery: Town Council’s action clear as mud
Why is no one listening to the people of Alice Springs? Selective hearing or cannot read the writing on the wall?
We have two terrific sites that already accommodate Aboriginal Art, why have a third?
Plus the NT Government cannot pay for the opening and full use of Darwin’s new hospital. Put the money to this better use and let all Territorians share this money that the government seem to allocate for the art gallery.

Council poll says ‘no’ to gallery at Anzac Oval
Why are not the pollies and their so-called public servants reading what the people of Alice Springs are answering in the polls?
Which is Yes, to the Gallery but NO to the Anzac Oval site.
How can this government even think of all this money for the art centre when they cannot fund the brand new hospital in Darwin?
