Comment on Town still upset with Stuart statue, say researchers by Fred the Philistine.

@ Ted Egan: Well said. What amazes me is 20 to 30 people sleep around the statue of Stuart, which means they must feel safe.
We need more statues like this especially of the Afghanastan history in the area.
I have been out to Aileron and seen the statues out there and they are magnificent.
Your son has done an excellent job. If it was not for the statues there, I would not have stopped, this brings tourism.
I know the man is holding a spear but I am not offended by it.
The problem is we have too many tree huggers.

Adelaide’s Indigenous gallery out of the starting blocks
Att Steve Brown: What do you expect when yoy have low standard of people running the Territory?
If the Territory is going to prosper, it needs industry and stop relying on Federal monies.
One can only say to all the people in the Territory, you need to lift your game.
As I have lived in the Territory for many years, the Territory is backwards.
If Alice Springs really wanted an art gallery, why did not one of the Aboriginal councils fund it, if it’s so important?

Firm ‘no’ from PM, Scullion to bailing out ‘bankrupt’ Territory
It’s about time the Commonwealth had opened their eyes. The Territory, especially Alice Springs, is a black hole when it comes finances.
It is time they start raising their own revenue as they have relied on Federal funding for far too long.
The rest of Australia is starting to wake up, that investing in the Territory is not good value.

The Territory is broke
It’s laughable as the Territory wanted to become a state. So much for self governing. Nothing has been achieved. Too much money wasted.

The Territory is broke
It’s no surprise. Never seen a state / territory run so poorly.

We need more police. True or false?
False. We do not need any more police just police who are going to work.
Remember the issues in the NT are mostly Indigenous crimes. We need to control the Indigenous. Where are we going to get the funding for extra police when the NT is broke?
