Tourism Central Australia has appointed Jaclyn Thorne to the position of General Manager from January 14.
Chairman Jeff Huyben says she has over eight years’ experience working in the tourism industry, in Local and State Government and heading up Tourism Barossa Incorporated.
“Her background in project management, being the executive officer of an incorporated body reporting to a volunteer board, managing a membership based tourism organisation are all skills which will help her to hit the ground running with Tourism Central Australia,” says Mr Huyben.
Currently working in the Barossa Valley, Ms Thorne says: “I acknowledge it is a big change from the rolling vineyards and freezing winters of the Barossa.
“I’m coming to the Red Centre with an open mind and am keen to connect with the board and members as soon as I can to help gain an understanding of the region, its product, strengths and challenges.”
Ms Thorne has a Double Degree in Tourism Management & International Studies, as well as a Diploma in Languages (French and Italian) and a post graduate certificate in Festival and Event Design and Management. – Media release.
