Rifles, cash stolen in Petrick Road

Police Strike Force Vega members are investigating the theft of cash and two rifles from a residence on Petrick Road.


Detective Acting Superintendent Peter Malley said unknown persons have forced entry into the house sometime between 7.30am and 8.30pm yesterday.


A Winchester .303 rifle, a black air rifle, ammunition for both and a significant amount of cash have been stolen from a secure location within the house.


Anyone who has sighted these two rifles or has knowledge of their current whereabouts was asked to contact police.


They also asked anyone in the retail or service industries in Alice Springs and surrounding areas to report any person spending large amounts of $100 notes.
