LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Sir – Close to 200 riders have already signed up for the award-winning Ingkerreke Commercial mountain bike Enduro from May 19 to 23, with all states represented.

This year’s field includes four previous event winners – Ben Mather, Jess Douglas, Jo Bennett and Imogen Smith – as well as several other hot contenders. It will be an intense five days of riding with seven very different stages of incredible mountain biking.

The stages range from a 300m sprint climb up Anzac Hill, a gruelling 80km epic to Simpsons Gap, and a 22km individual time trial along flowing single track, to a 22km night race. Competitors can do the full event or select single stages only.

Jess Douglas, Ingkerreke female winner 2011 and three times World 24 Hour solo champion, is returning again this year.

Just as action packed is the off-course schedule with social functions on offer each night of the event. With competitors hanging out together for the whole week, the Ingkerreke event has a reputation for being one of the most social MTB events on the annual calendar.
