• Young Centralian Citizen of the Year – Makhosini Khumalo  (Sponsored by Lions).
• Volunteer of the Year – Lex Fitchett.

The new citizens are from countries including Nigeria, Nepal, South Africa, India, Philippines, Indonesia, UK, New Zealand, USA, South Korea, Kuwait, Wales, Sudan, Kenya, Fiji, Myanmar, China, Pakistan, Denmark, Thailand, Zimbabwe and Italy.

Following the civic ceremony, the Alice Springs Aquatic and Leisure Centre will be hosting a ‘Triple J’s Hottest 100’ party.

This free family friendly event starts at 9am and has face painting, jumping castle, inflatable pool toys and a sausage sizzle.
