Paul Davis has resigned as the acting CEO of Desert Knowledge and is “in discussion” about joining the Hatzimihail Group which is seeking to establish a Technology complex in the DK precinct (pictured).
Mr Davis says the board is waiting for the Hatzimihail Group to formulate a business plan.

However, the Hatzimihails – linked to a big and well established Greek family in Alice Springs – want a conditional lease which could form the basis for partnerships.

If the terms and conditions, agreed between DK and the group, could not be satisfied, then the proposed long term development would not proceed, says Mr Davis.

He says he and his family are moving to Victoria where his children are studying at universities. He was employed with DK for almost four years and worked for Newmont at the Granites gold mine for more than four years prior to that.

The 73 hectare precinct, in round figures, currently accommodates Batchelor College and the Centre for Appropriate Technology (18 ha) and a native title area in the north western corner (5 ha).

About 5 to 8 ha are taken up by the St Mary’s Creek. The Hatzimihail Group is seeking to lease as much as possible of the remainder.

  1. I am looking for info on the Hatzimihail Group. I would like to know the truth about why they lost the project?
