Alice Springs student Nina Miers (pictured), a St Philip’s College graduate, has been awarded one of five prestigious C. A. S. Hawker Scholarships worth up to $60,000 over four years.
She is studying Economics and International Studies at the Australian National University.
The scholarship was founded by the late Lilias Needham, in memory of her brother, Charles Hawker.
He was “one of Australia’s most respected pastoral pioneers” and political figures, and the scholarship is “one of the most generous privately funded scholarships available to Australian undergraduate and postgraduate students of principle and character, who are committed to Australia’s future,” according to a media release.
