Assault in broad daylight

Sir – We are appealing to witnesses of an assault on two people in Alice Springs to contact us.

It is alleged a man and woman were getting into a silver coloured hatchback vehicle parked on the northern end of Hartley Street when they were assaulted by a group of people around 1pm on Monday.

No one was injured during the incident and the vehicle sustained minor damage.

We believe there were a number of people in the area who witnessed the assault and are appealing for them to come forward.

This incident occurred in the middle of the day and we know there would have been a number of bystanders and motorists who witnessed it.

We would appreciate it if anyone who did see this occur to contact Police on 131 444 or come into the Alice Springs Police Station and provide a statement to assist with our investigations.
