Sir – Gutless Gunner refuses to talk about crime in Parliament.
The latest police crime statistics in Alice Springs show a more than 10% increase in crime across the board over the past 12 months, with house break-ins up by 41.5% and motor vehicle thefts up by 31.5%.
I moved a motion to censure the Government for the government’s failure to keep crime under control in the NT. Gunner rejected the motion, refusing the opportunity to talk about what he is doing to stem the growing rates of crime throughout the NT.

I have finally resorted to self protection. A firearm is in my household and if anyone breaks in I’m going to use it.
As Robyn has stated the NT (Alice Springs) crime rate is out of control.
No longer do I have confidence that government organisations (police, etc.) can protect innocent citizens. Not the police’s fault, their hands are tied.
The justice system is a joke. The offenders go to court smiling and are proud to brag to other offenders regarding their illegal acts. They get bail and re-offend. I personally think judges should be held accountable.
I have also bought a trained guard dog from interstate.
I guarantee no one is coming into my yard. You might think I am bragging or going to far.
For me my family is priority. Pity I had to resort to this to protect my residence and family in Alice Springs.
Anarchy and guns rule in Alice Springs. Protect yourselves.
As has been said before, we are a town of locked gates, high fences and snarling dogs.
If I were moving into a new home and learned that I would have to make all the big and little safety improvements I have made over the years around my current home, I probably wouldn’t go there.
We spruik ourselves as a welcoming tourist town, and in our dreams we are.
When will Mr Gunner face up to the concerns of thousands of Alice residents who live in a lock down world?
Does he wake every morning to coffee in a mug handed to him by spin merchants and toast buttered by highly paid advisors soothing the concerns of decent people and suggesting steady as she goes?
What we have are occasional mumblings from a man with no answers to our nightmare. Step up or resign.
Robyn Lambley voices a concern that is widespread. Labor governments in particular are so influenced by the Left that identity politics prevents transparency with youth crime.
It is a crazy philosophy not to tackle it head on.
The morale of Victorian police is at an all time low. They do not know how to handle youth crime because of confusing government policy.
Imagine being a cop in Victoria when 21 government politicians openly refuse to cooperate with them in their investigation of wrongful use of public funds to run an election campaign.
How much harder is it for police to feel they have government support when tackling youth crime.
Our whole national thinking towards law and order in the streets is warped by identity politics and group victimisation claims. The NT reflects this trend.
I like this little town of ours but I have one year left before I leave this town for good, and honestly I can’t wait.
The constant increase in crime, especially the house break-ins, absolutely terrifies me.
I live alone with two cats and trying to sleep at night when I read articles like this is killing me.
How do you think potential tourists might feel? 🙁

Tennant Creek has a cop for every 40 people and no white person dares walk the streets at night.
We have youth patrol and night patrol cruising the streetS, running a free taxi service home, unless your white: Then if you dared walk you would be told keep walking.
One 70 year old German had his house broken into last week, he was almost beaten to death with a iron bar then robbed.
Another older guy was followed home robbed and beaten a few weeks ago.
Not so long ago the fence at the hospital was climbed and a nurse raped, in her quarters.
Every women who lives alone lives in fear.
We have the Barkley work camp here, as punishment for crimes like vicious violence and breaking into your house. They are sent to the camp and the punishment is working in the local supermarket, cutting the grass around town, picking up litter and chatting with family.
