No one kicking up a fuss over the location of this one …

Adelaide’s Indigenous gallery out of the starting blocks
It’s a shame this won’t happen anymore.
[On the one hand] the government may say we can have this gallery which might bring millions into the local economy, put the Alice on the radar of many who might not have normally thought to come here, possibly [be part] future deals on airfares when Qantas takes an interest in being a promoter of the gallery, and local ongoing employment would show signs of the Alice is still a growing town for investment opportunities for interstate people.
OR you can sook about the location and it will never happen and you can sit on your little oval and asbestos building and watch the town burn.
Maybe the outcome might have been different. Good work people who were against it because they thought in some way their memories would be taken from them.

‘Voter apathy greatest threat to Territory democracy’
It’s great everyone having a vote. The trouble is when the vote is coming from someone who is uninformed and simply votes based on what they have been told by old mate ‘Fred’ which might or might not be based on facts.
Would be good to have unbiased forums and information sessions held in communities pointing out the differences on who you are voting for.
And not a system where they vote who they are told to by old mate who tells them how to vote at the front door.

Youth crime: compassion alone is no solution
If you don’t have a safe, caring and loving home you don’t have a chance. Let’s keep forking out stacks of cash addressing the results and not address the cause.

National gallery business case still not public
Just do something already, you aren’t going to make everyone happy and there will always be the perpetual sooks.
At least spending some money on Alice will be better than ignoring it.

Bottle shop cops need to be brought into line: local chain
It’s sad when the society cannot talk about facts and statistics due to being afraid of being called something.
Try to address the majority of troubles directly and you will be labelled.
Easier to just let the town die the slow death, like it has been for the last 10 to 15 years.

‘Disgust’ at site choices for youth detention facilities
Come on now APO who will be compensating the neighbours of these locations if they are built in residential areas?
Because having that built next door is going to halve the value of your house and invite a noisy and hostile environment.
Having multiple locations for these kids to be at would cost a fortune to staff and make safe at each location.
All in one place is cost effective when the government already has no money.
I would guess it’s getting placed next door to a prison so that if anything goes down, trained professionals can come across and assist so that the under-trained admin staff aren’t being used like security guards.
Maybe if parents or family didn’t want to have to pay for a way out to these places they might pay more attention to their responsibilities and basic human nature of raising your children.
