Early hours joyride in CBD in stolen cars

Three cars were stolen overnight and reportedly used to joyride erratically in the CBD around 3am, with the occupants yelling abuse at others.

NT Police are investigating following unlawful entry of two Alice Springs homes from which the three cars were stolen.

Two of the vehicles – a white 2017 model Nissan X-Trail with NT registration CC99KW and a white Suzuki Beleno with NT registration CC47HY – were stollen from a home on Standley Crescent in Gillen sometime between midnight and 3am.

A third vehicle – a white Holden Rodeo with NT registration 5191 – was stolen from a home on Kurrajong Drive, Sadadeen.

Police recovered two of the vehicles earlier today, but the white Nissan X-Trail remains outstanding.

Police urge anyone who has information which may assist in the investigation to contact them on 131 444 or report it anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 and reference PROMIS number 9182306.
