Alice   Springs   residents  have  been   asked   to   give  up   a   few  hours   of   their   time   to   collect   for   the  Red   Shield   Appeal  Doorknock  Weekend, May 24  –  25.

Major  Peter  Wood  says the   Salvation   Army   operates   eight   programs   across   the   Northern  Territory  including  drug  and  alcohol  programs,   domestic  violence  shelters  and  family  tracing  services.

“Australia   is   going   through   a  major   economic   transition   and   some   families   face   an   uncertain   future.  Many  people  who  have  been  well  off  in  the  past  are  now  genuinely  worried  for  what  is around  the  corner.”

Major Wood says volunteers  can call  13  SALVOS  (13  72  58)  or  register  online.
