Comment on Council: Aboriginal flag will fly but not the art gallery by James T Smerk.

Curious that there isn’t an Aboriginal flag flying out the front of the new Supreme Court building in Alice Springs too. There is even a spare pole next to the Territory and Australian Flag?

Local1: SPOT ON. Sounds only fair! It would be good if some of these organizations endorsed and promoted togetherness and coming together as one nation, instead of acting like they want nothing to do with the Australian flag.

Fiscal emergency: Get rid of Ministers, says Opposition
Good luck trying to cut spending. The NT public service has a large portion of its spending dedicated to our first people.
Unfortunately (currently) they take up a larger than proportionate amount of time from our police, hospitals, prisons and a lot more services supplied by the NT Government.
Their culture doesn’t meld with modern culture so we can’t expect to treat them with modern techniques.
The question is how to we get a round ball to fit into a square hole? The answer to this will save many many millions and lives.

NT tourism turbocharger out of gas as Feds eye off Kakadu
Anyone going to do anything for Alice? I bet he didn’t even give it a thought as they went flying over us.

National Indigenous Art Gallery future in doubt: Gunner
Sounds like the start of backing out of the project altogether. The old “they don’t want it so we won’t do it now” as if they were ever going to.
It’s been something for them to talk about for Alice Springs whilst they have been in Government without doing anything else for the town.
I doubt they ever intended to go ahead with it, just dangle the carrot so no one ask what else you are doing for the town.

10 kids loose in a car: Big fine
I bet nothing comes of the fact that this person appears to be an irresponsible parent, to say the very least (assuming at least one of these kids was hers).
I would be willing to bet it’s not the first or last time she will do this, yet we had our chance to look after these kids and teach her (and them about being an responsible adult) a valuable lesson.
Instead we just hand out a fine which will most likely never be paid and demerit points which probably won’t stop them either.
Let’s just turn our heads and cross our fingers nothing like this happens again, that will fix it.
