Comment on ‘Anzac Oval not for sale’: govt under pressure on gallery plans by Gammon.

Mabel, Lhere Artepe has nothing to do with the desert park or Anzac oval. Native title does not exist at either site. Not sure about the Bradshaw site though. They may have a say there.
People need to stop expecting this disfunctional organization to speak outside their authority, and talk to the apmereke-artweye and kwetungurle as a group instead.

Gallery: The Gunner spin goes on
Agency or ownership the government is not interested in indigenous involvement or cultural considerations. Just had a call from a senior TO ,(a member of the group that put the kibosh on the Anzac oval site) saying they just heard on the radio that the governments latest plan is to try to get council to move to Anzac high so the gallery can go on the council office site. I guess hearing about it on the radio is what government calls consultation.

What is a traditional owner? How do you define that term?
Is it the same as native title holder, which is a very recent legal term.
Or is it closer to a more original Indigenous understanding.
Something closer to apmereke-artweye and kwetungurle.
Or is it something else again?

“Policies that reinforce traditional Australian values at the time of the foundation of the country.” Really, that sounds very backward and quite dangerous for many in our community. Surely they can’t be serious.
